Victor Wembanyama reacts after tying Michael Jordan’s record

Victor Wembanyama put up wild numbers on Friday night, finishing with 27 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, five steals and five blocks, and he gave it his all for the San Antonio Spurs .

However, these numbers were obtained during Wembanyama’s 123-118 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at San Antonio Spurs Arena. This was the Spurs’ third straight loss and their 46th of the season.

As a result, Wembanyama was not really in the mood to celebrate his historic performance. According to ESPN, he became the second player after Michael Jordan to have five blocks and five steals in back-to-back games.

When asked how he accomplished this feat, Wembanyama responded in a way that complimented his aura.

“I wonder if (Jordan) did it in victory rather than defeat.”

Indeed, Jordan did it. Wembanyama continued:

“To me, it’s secondary…it can’t be satisfied with failure.”

Just like Jordan, winning seems to be everything for young Wembanyama.
