On Friday (October 20), a video of young Doja the cat engaging in a fierce dance battle with male dancers resurfaced online. She persevered and showed off her impressive dancing skills.
In the video, Doja, nicknamed Lady Get Down, is a member of the West Coast Pop Lockers dance troupe. One of her male co-dancers picks her up and places her on the dance floor, then imitates the movements of her arms like a puppet. Doja breaks free and starts clicking and locking.
At one point she bends back and lifts herself up by her collar. All of this is impressive and shows that Doja Cat is a versatile talent. You can watch the full video below.

Dodge Cat’s dance skills
The old Doja Cat dance clip is taken from an extended video that appeared on the ACTIVATE LA YouTube channel on August 4, 2021. In the three-minute video, a very young Doja Cat is introduced as the Get Down Lady and she shows off her impressive popping and blocking skills. The dance battle reportedly took place around 2011.
The short clip may have surprised some fans who only knew Doja Cat through her music. But the 27-year-old artist has several dance videos on YouTube, including the one you can watch below. In this clip, Doja was on Instagram Live showing off her flexibility and footwork during a rehearsal.
