Cousins is now expected to miss the remainder of the season, while rookie Jalen Hall, injured Nick Mullens and practice squad veteran Sean Mannion are all available options for the Vikings this season. The outlook for the remainder of the tournament does not look promising.

Brady turned 46 on August 3. He retired in 2022 after leading the Buccaneers to an 8-9 record, which may have been his final retirement. Still, his third-most throwing yards in the league last season (more than Cousins) made him the subject of rumors about a return to action.
The problem is that Brady’s efficiency has dropped significantly. His touchdown rate was the lowest of any season starter in his career. His quarterback record is his worst.
Of course, there’s also the matter of his retirement. He has maintained throughout the offseason that he will not return to play football. He had gone back on his word in the past, but not after all this time.

With the veteran not available until Week 10, Minnesota needs to figure out their quarterback plan quickly before Week 9.
