This year’s Vogue World red carpet mood: London? In one word: joy! We saw a buzz on the red carpet tonight as show-goers dressed for a night full of surprises – no one knew exactly what was in store for them, but they arrived prepared. If fashion could be divided into two trends, it would be metallic and floral trends (and sometimes both!). Several guests, including Princess Beatrice, wore quintessential British brand Richard Quinn. Princess Beatrice admired the designer’s pleated caped dress with a whimsical floral pattern, while Nia DaCosta opted for a dress with flowing floral tulle trim. And then there were metallics! From sparkling foil-like silver to shimmering gold (see Charitra Chandran’s look) and statement bronze, metallic hues reigned supreme. The sparkle showed up on medallion sequins, liquid denim (see Dove Cameron’s full Coach look), and tiny micro pants from Miu Miu. Metallics are, of course, the biggest trend for fall 2023, and tonight only confirmed that it’s a trend worth trying out.
