As the Israeli military continues to launch its attacks against the Gaza Strip, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken confirmed that Washington will not support any Israeli intentions to run the Gaza Strip.
He also said during his questioning session in Congress today, Tuesday, “There are alternative plans to manage Gaza after the war with the participation of other countries in the region,” indicating that it is logical that Gaza will eventually be governed through an authority active and effective Palestinian.
The American minister declared that the United States supports Israel in continuing the attack on the Gaza Strip “until the Palestinian movement Hamas ceases to pose a threat”, coinciding with the bombing of Jabalia.
Furthermore, the White House stressed that the time is not right for a ceasefire in Gaza, but indicated the possibility of studying periods of truce.
He added: “There is no indication that Hamas has taken control of humanitarian aid,” stressing that the trucks entered Gaza carrying water and food, not fuel.
A drop in the ocean of needs
The Palestinian Red Crescent announced that its teams received 59 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid through the Rafah crossing on Tuesday.
On Platform X he added that four trucks had been delivered to the International Committee of the Red Cross and that the trucks were carrying food, medicines, relief materials and medical supplies.
He stated that the total number of trucks received so far amounts to 217 trucks, while no fuel has been allowed to enter so far.
Yesterday, a spokesperson for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) told the Arab World News Agency that aid entering Gaza is just “a drop in the ocean of needs”, underlining the need to bring 100 trucks of aid per day to the Strip.
