We will prevent movement from south to north Gaza during the truce

On the eve of the start of the first humanitarian truce in Gaza, Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee announced on Thursday that the movement of residents from the south of the Strip to the north will not be permitted in any way during the truce.

Adraee said in a statement that even the “uncoordinated” movement of trucks from the southern Gaza Strip to the north will not be allowed during the truce period, stressing that Israeli forces will be stationed “on the ceasefire lines” at inside the Strip. with the beginning of the truce.

He also added that Israeli forces “will be positioned in non-densely populated areas and will continue administrative and logistical movements on the Netzarim axis and the coastal road.”

Friday morning

It is interesting to note that the truce between Israel and Hamas, reached on Wednesday with Qatari-Egyptian-American mediation, for the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip in exchange for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons, will come into force on Friday.

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al-Ansari said Thursday that “the humanitarian truce will begin exactly at seven in the morning on Friday (0500 GMT), and the first batch of civilian hostages will be delivered from the Gaza Strip at exactly 4pm (2pm GMT) on Friday.”

Al-Ansari indicated that the number of people released will be 13, including women and children.

“50 in 4 days”

He further added: “It is clear that each day will include the agreed number of released civilians, bringing the total to 50 in 4 days.”

He further added: “In these four days, information will be collected on the rest of the hostages to consider the possibility of releasing a larger number of hostages and thus prolong this truce.”

For their part, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of Hamas, announced that “the truce will come into force at exactly 7am on Friday morning”, specifying that “it will apply for a period of 4 days”. starting Friday morning, accompanied by the cessation of all military actions” by both sides.

He said that during this period 50 Israeli prisoners, women and children under 19 will be released, and in exchange Israel will release 150 Palestinian prisoners, women and children.

For its part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement that “a preliminary list of the names of those abducted has been received and the relevant authorities are examining the details of the list and are in the meantime communicating with all authorities families of the kidnapped.”

Interestingly, on October 7, Hamas launched a surprise attack during which its members infiltrated Israeli military bases across the separation wall and attacked settlements on the border of the Gaza Strip, which, according to Israel, it caused the deaths of approximately 1,200 people.
