Michael Jordan’s son Marcus and Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife Larsa have made it clear that outside noise won’t affect their polarizing romance.

But the pair admit that internal noise – like a certain GOAT’s perspective – could be affecting their now year-long relationship.

“I think if Marcus’ dad or family members said, ‘Hey, never see her again,’ we probably would have continued to be friends,” Larsa told the “Pablo Torre Discovery” podcast on Tuesday said.

“I never want to get into a situation where I’m going to destroy someone’s family or cause a major disturbance. That’s not my intention, that would never be my intention, you know? I think when people think of your dad, I think if he didn’t want We’re in this together, we’re not going to be together. We’re not going to be together, it’s not going to happen. I never want to be in a situation like this.”

Luckily, Marcus claims to have his father’s blessing to date the ex-wife of his former Chicago Bulls teammate.

Pippen was married to Larsa for 19 years, but the two reportedly separated in 2016.

“It’s embarrassing,” Larsa said. “It’s weird. I understand. But for us, it’s not weird.

“It might be weird to the world because our last name is so well known in basketball history.”

Pippen and Jordan won six NBA championships during their nine seasons together in Chicago and are considered by many to be the greatest duo in sports history.

“I know it’s probably not good from an aesthetic standpoint,” Larsa, 49, said of her relationship with Marcus, 32.

As harsh as it may seem, Marcus insists his father is okay with his current love life.

“(Jordan) said, ‘You’re a grown man. You can make your own decisions,'” Marcus said. “Ultimately, as long as I’m happy, he’s happy. He’s never interfered with my dating life before Larsa, so he’s not going to start now.”

But there is evidence that the opposite is true. Back in July, Jordan was spotted leaving dinner at Paris restaurant Matignon when paparazzi asked him if he was okay with Marcus dating the “Real Housewives of Miami” reality star.

“No,” Jordan shouted before climbing into the car.

Marcus took the opportunity to respond to the viral video on Tuesday, admitting that he caught Larsa off guard.

“My dad was a notorious trash talker,” Marcus said. “For people who know my dad, he likes to talk a lot of crap. So at that moment I thought, obviously he’s kidding. He’s kidding. Larsa was completely devastated. It paints the story of: Obviously he’s not on board , but we know he’s there.

“For me, I knew where he was coming from, but it took some explaining for her to understand that – obviously she knew who his character was – but he never missed an opportunity to throw a punch. That’s what we relation.”

Marcus said his father texted him immediately after the incident to clarify it was a joke.

“I just think it’s been exaggerated,” Marcus said. “Maybe he shouldn’t have said that, but that’s okay.”

“I feel like our family just wants us to be happy,” Larsa said. “I feel like I don’t want to put too much emphasis on your family or my family, other than us and my children, who are affected by our relationship.”

Larsa insists that out of the “billion pluses” in her and Marcus’ relationship, the only minus is their last name.
