The most recent to launch a new product was Kendall Jenner. In May of this year, the 25-year-old model unveiled her brand of tequila, called 818. And it has become a success because according to Page Six, the drink has been sold in around 80 countries.
Page Six’s source told the outlet that Kendall can barely keep up with the demand from its consumers and distributors. In several stores, 818 would have sold out quickly in the first 24 hours of display. Going on sale digitally, the available bottles had run out just four hours after launch.
The same portal also reported that the brand has received orders from India, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, Ukraine, Japan, and many more. However, the largest market is in the United States and Latin America.
How the name and varieties of 818 were born
818 is the area code for Los Angeles, the city where the model was born. The consumer can choose between three types: white, añejo, and reposado.
The drink has already been awarded and received the World Tequila Awards. In 2020, 818 received the commemoration as the best reposado tequila. It was described as a drink with hints of nut and caramel. In addition, it also has sweet and smoky aromas and flavors of oak, vanilla, and cinnamon.
This brand produces artisan tequila and uses traditional Jalisco brewing methods. The drink is produced in that same place in Mexico and is made in a distillery operated by Weber Blue agaves.
On the 818 websites, a bottle of reposado tequila retails for $ 45. In Colombian pesos that is equivalent to $ 171,022 COP. In addition, the same portal explains that the production chain minimizes the impact on the planet to the maximum.
