What’s going on with Travis Scott’s signature Jordan sneakers?

Back in May, Travis Scott quietly debuted his signature Jordan sneakers at the Cannes Film Festival. As we approach the end of the year, Scott continues to tease colorways while fans are still awaiting release details from him and Jordan Brand. The question on our minds (and probably on the ardent ones too) is: what’s the delay?

First, according to sources, Scott’s “Cut the Check” Jordan sneakers aren’t even called “Cut the Check.” Indeed, the musician’s shoes remained nameless, but some now call them “Jumpman Jacks.” Innovative.

Scott’s Jordan sneakers are low-cut and even a little chunky. In terms of distinguishing features, it features a large strap overlayed across the midfoot as well as the familiar reverse Swoosh logo seen in Scott’s past collaborations. Finally, the classic Jumpman logo stands out prominently on the shoe’s thick tongue.

Scott’s signature Jordan sneakers are rumored to release in four colorways. Scott has shown off three spins so far: a muted pair (Cannes), a multi-color scheme, and something of a “reverse mocha” like his Jordan 1 Low.

However, it is unknown which pairs Scott is wearing will be included in the official release (whenever that may be).

We get it: 2023 has been a busy year for Scott. Utopia release and tour of the album, which is currently ongoing. While on the way to Utopia, Scott also fulfilled his duties at Nike (well, sort of). He basically just announced his upcoming collaboration.

To be fair, the musician is featured on many Nike sneakers, including his Nike Mac Attack and of course his signature Jordans.

There are even images of the new Scott x Nike sneaker, which boasts elements similar to the Huarache and Zoom Spiridon. Due to Scott’s new Nike shoe releasing in 2024, it will apparently be called Sharkidon (sounds like a Sci-Fi Channel movie about a prehistoric underwater creature).

While the Sharkidon isn’t associated with Scott’s signature Jordan sneakers, there’s no denying that the upcoming Nike collab will look super-duper like a non-Cut the Check sneaker. They have belts too!

However, it wasn’t all teasing. Scott delivered several golf shoes, ultra-simple Air Force 1s and others. Utopia Jordan 1 Lowe. But the last one was only for friends and family.

In addition to the Mac Attacks, Scott’s Jordans are expected to release sometime during the Holiday 23 season, which is any day now (Jordan Brand’s seasonal collection has already released a few drops).

Hopefully, fans won’t have to wait too long for more details on Jordan’s signature sneakers, or any sneakers from their ardent favorites and Nike – even if it’s just a sliver of a cryptic message. Teaser. Anything!
