WhatsApp has just fatally wounded the entire ecosystem of applications to create stickers. The new version of WhatsApp Web incorporates its own sticker creation tool, and it is possibly all you need to add new personalized images to your personal collection.
To create new stickers, go to WhatsApp Web, open any chat and click on the clip icon and the new “Sticker” button. Choose any image from your computer as the base of the sticker. You will see some basic tools to edit the image. Scissors allow you to cut out the outline of the subject that appears in a photo. You can add text, emojis, other stickers or doodles on top of the image. You can also cut the image, but only in square proportion.
Si what you want is the background of the sticker to be transparent, but you don’t have the pulse to use the contour cutter tool built into the app, you can pass the image through remove.bg, which uses an artificial intelligence to identify the subject and separate it from its environment.
The new tool to create stickers is available on WhatsApp Web and will arrive on the desktop version of WhatsApp next week with an update. WhatsApp has not announced plans yet to integrate this tool into mobile versions, but the stickers you create on WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp on your desktop will also be available on your phone.
