Suzanne Collins set up a dystopian universe first with the main trilogy of Hunger Games and later with a prequel novel starring a young, curious and reckless Coriolanus Snow. Lionsgate has released the new poster of The Hunger Games: Ballad of the Nightingale and the Serpentconsequently also revealing the Italian official release date of the film.

is back in the cinema, although this time with different characters. Chronologically set decades before the main trilogy (brought to the cinema in four films), the prequel film focuses above all on tenth Hunger Games. The hunger games began to improve starting from that year, introducing novelties that later became the rule in the following decades and well known to Katniss Everdeen. In the prequel, we meet a young Coriolanus Snow, years before he became the feared president of Panem. The film introduces a young man, determined to finish his studies to make a career and restore the charm of the family name with his talent. For this reason, at only 18 years old, he can’t refuse the offer to appear as mentor of a tribute for the Hunger Games. His job is to manage Lucy Gray Bairda girl of the District 12, one of the poorest and most battered. Despite initial fears, Snow and Lucy Gray find a way to navigate the arena, especially when the girl proves to have a nightingale voice. But which of the two is the real snake?

shared by Lionsgate, the key elements of The Hunger Games return. There mockingjay, a symbol of rebellion associated with Katniss Everdeen, also appears here, wings spread as a menacing snake looms from below. All around are lush gold roses, a clear reference to President Snow and his family. Thanks to the poster, we also have one Italian release date. The Hunger Games prequel will hit theaters on November 16, 2023, one day before the overseas release. To make the film even more interesting is also the chosen cast. Rachel Zeglerreturning from successes such as West Side Story And Shazam! Fury of the godswill play Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute to District 12. The young Snow, however, will have the features of Tom Blyth. Rounding out the cast too Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), Viola Davis And Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones). Directed, however, once again Francis Lawrencewhich has already accompanied the original saga (three out of four films) with Jennifer Lawrence.
