The MCU miniseries published on Disney+, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn and Emilia Clarke, is drawing to a close: the long-awaited season finale is just a few days away, and it’s waiting to see what twists and turns it will leave for public.
Secret Invasion, the first (mini) series of the so-called Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase Five, is nearing completion. Led by Samuel L. Jackson, of course as the iconic Nick Fury, the series also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Emilia Clarke and Oscar winner Olivia Colman, among others.
The series, released on Disney+, received mixed reception critics and the public not fully satisfied with this new narrative related to the world of the MCU. On Rotten Tomatoes, the current rating is 60%, which is quite enough, but it is one of the lowest ratings for the Marvel Cinematic and TV Universe.
Secret Invasion: When is the season finale coming out?
Episodes aired on Wednesdays weekly starting June 21st. The penultimate one, which aired just last night, set the stage for a grand finale. So the next one will come out Wednesday 26 July, of course, always on Disney+. To be precise, the last episode (it’s not yet clear if this series will have a direct sequel) will debut at 9am.
What we know for now with certainty is that the series will “bleed” into Armored Warsanother MCU series set to release in the coming months on Disney+ that will take place after the events of Secret Invasion and will see Don Cheadle, who will play James Rhodes, and Walton Goggins, who will play his character Sonny Burch, in the cast. The imagination for a second season, given the lukewarm reception and the abundance of Marvel products during this period, isn’t clear at the moment, but we’ll likely have clearer ideas in the coming months.
