When Jennifer Lopez slammed Alex Rodriguez for sharing a different version of their first date: “Liar”

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez had completely different versions of how their first date went in February 2017. They dated for several years before getting engaged in March 2019, but called it quits two years later.

However, in 2018, while they were still together, Rodriguez spoke with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford on Today with Hoda and Jenna show and spilled the beans about his first meeting with Lopez. He said that he never perceived their first meeting as a date:

“She (Lopez) will argue with you that it was a date, and I will say to this day that I was just there, like, friends, and that’s probably why I felt so comfortable.”

Interestingly, Lopez was backstage throughout the interview and Kotb was waiting for her confirmation, which is when things got a little tense. The pop icon seemed to say the word “liar” to Kotb as Rodriguez reminisced about their first date.

However, the MLB legend was quick to spread the word and continued his story:

“Thank God, because if I thought it was a date, I would have been a little confused myself, but because I was there as friends, we just had the most amazing three-hour conversation.”
