READ MORE: Iconic Glasgow family bar up for sale
Just last year a film crew came to the pub to film some scenes for the gritty cat-and-mouse thriller Deadshot.
The retro space provided the perfect backdrop for the 1970s drama, and during the trailer, eagle-eyed viewers can catch a glimpse of a group of actors, including Mark Strong, gathered around a small table littered with half-empty pins and ashtrays.
Legacies fans will probably recognize this location from the second season of the hit HBO series.
Dundee may have been at the center of the dysfunctional Roy family as patriarch Logan explored his Scottish roots, but the scene in which middle child Roman picked up a stool in a Glasgow bar before mixing up the acquisition of Hearts football club and Hibernian FC provided the episode’s highlight.

Lauriston also featured in the Bafta nominated film Wild Rose, starring Jessie Buckley, and almost two decades earlier in the 2003 film Young Adam, which starred Scottish talent such as Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton and Peter Mullan.
The three-part miniseries In Plain Sight, which tells the story of detective Peter Munsey on his mission to catch serial killer Peter Manuel, features the bar as one of its filming locations in Glasgow.
Even without a film crew present, the bar’s unique charm has attracted some famous clients, as was evident in 2019 when staff shared a photo of stars Mary Queen of Scots, Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden cozying up in an instantly recognizable red leather booth.
One of the team members later said that “it was great to see them.”
In the music world, the pub was used to film videos for The Fratellis and Franz Ferdinand.
A photograph of the outside of the bar was used as the cover of a record by The Album Club, a group of music lovers turned artists turned regulars.
Summing up the feelings of many, Scottish crime writer Ian Rankin tweeted in July this year that the place was simply an “absolute spectacle” with “more characters than a computer keyboard.”

After it was announced today that Lauriston, which has been in the Clancy family for more than four decades, has been put on the market for £750,000, it remains unclear whether a potential buyer would want to continue the silver screen legacy.
Owners John and James Clancy said: “In any family business, family is a priority.
“After 40 years of serving the Lauriston Bar family, we would now like to dedicate more time to serving the Clancy family.
“It goes without saying that business will continue as usual until the right buyer is found.”
