On the latest episode of All The Smoke, Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson are joined by All-Star and New York’s Jalen Brunson.
Jalen, of course, is the son of Rick Brunson, who played more than 300 games in the NBA from 1997 to 2006. In this way, Jaren was able to play in the NBA from an early age. This included an interaction with the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan, which shocked many.
Jalen told Matt and Stark that when he went to the East Coast to watch his dad play, one of the things he was going to do was get a home team jersey. So of course Jordan got a nice new No. 23 jersey when he watched his dad play against the Wizards during his time in Washington. After the game, he was able to walk into the Wizards locker room and meet the legend in person. Jaylen said Jordan offered to sign his brand new jersey…but young Jaylen turned him down! He didn’t want the Hall of Famer and most famous basketball player to ruin his jersey!

Jalen said he took it for granted growing up in the NBA under the influence of his father. As a result, he signed almost no signatures. His father collected similar items, but in his youth he saw no need. After all, that brand’s new jersey has to be kept crisp.
On the other hand, everyone probably thinks Jay Wright is “GQ Jay,” but Jaylen says you don’t want to meet Gerald Wright…
