Will Katniss be in the new Hunger Games movie?

Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes is due out in late 2023 and fans have only one question: will the character of Katniss be present in the storyline?

The new movie of Hunger Games The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is eagerly awaited by fans of the novel by Suzanne Collins and is set 64 years before the original book Hunger Games, going to be defined as a prequel to the saga. The film, to be released in America on November 17, 2023, will closely see the story of a young Coriolanus Snow, played by Tom Blyth

(Billy the Kid, Scott and Sid), madly in love with Rachel Zegler (Shazam Fury of the Gods, West Side Story) as Lucy Gray Baird, during the 10th edition of the Hunger Games.

Snow is chosen to mentor Baird, the District 12 tribute. The film will focus on Snow’s entire life leading up to his presidency of Panem in the original films. Snow is a complicated young man trying to take control of his life, and the story of the new film describes how he became the ruthless leader we know.

Jennifer Lawrence will not be present in the cast and we will not see the role of Katniss Everdeen: this may disappoint fans of the series, loyal to the character of Katniss and Jennifer. In an interview with People during the Toronto International Film Festival

last fall, Jennifer Lawrence offered advice to the new cast taking on the franchise for the new prequel film. She said, “You guys are going to have a blast. Have fun and just don’t worry about a thing.”

Katniss’ absence will be felt in the prequel

The director Frances Lawrence said in an interview with Vanity Fair that Lucy Gray is “the anti-Katniss” and described her character as a musical performer from District 12, known for being a community of artists. Lawrence explained that Coriolanus Snow’s character falls in love with Lucy Gray Baird because he’s never met a girl like her before.
