With the Lakers, there’s no question that LeBron James is 100 percent. “The King” has fully recovered from the torn tendon in his right foot suffered in the last game. Team coach Davon Hamm confirmed this. “LeBron is 100 percent healthy. He looks good. He looks like a third- or fourth-year LeBron in the league,” the strategist said.
Now that doesn’t mean “King James” will be allowed to participate in the preseason without restrictions. The Lakers have a plan to prevent the four-time NBA MVP from getting injured again. The plan will begin with the first prep game of the 2023-24 season, this Saturday against the Golden State Warriors.
The idea from Davon Hamm and the Los Angeles coaching staff is to rest James for half of the preseason. One game will be played and the other will have to rest. If so, the Ohio native will only play in three prep games. All this is to avoid unnecessary pressure on the areas affected last March.
“I think every game I play will determine if I can play the next game. For sure, I won’t play Saturday in the Bay Area. But we’ll see after that,” LeBron expressed in front of different media. .
If all goes as expected, James will play his first preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, October 9 at 9:00 PM ET.
