On October 11, 2015, Israa was traveling from Jericho to Jerusalem. Knowing that the tube was empty and that the explosion had occurred in the front of the car, the prosecution cited as evidence some statements published on her Facebook page.




After deliberations and discussions within the Israeli courts, she was sentenced to 11 years in prison and a fine of 50,000 shekels. Pre-sentence discussions lasted a year and the sentence was handed down on October 7, 2016.
