EL PASO, Texas – Today! Halloween is finally here, and we’ve got a list of things to do if you’re planning on going out trick-or-treating or celebrating with friends and family.
Below is a list of some of these events.
Things to do in El Paso:
- El Paso County:
- The Enrique Moreno County Courthouse will be open to all trick-or-treaters during business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Trick-or-treaters will be able to receive a list of all participating offices from Courthouse Security located at the first and third floor entrances to the courthouse.
- Friendship projects:
- The organization will host a free carnival at 3210 Dyer St. on Halloween from 3 to 6 p.m.
- Attendees can enjoy an afternoon and evening of fun with carnival games, prizes and a haunted house.
- El Paso Community College:
- The EPCC Northwest Counseling Department (EPCC Northwest Campus, 6701 S. Desert Blvd.) will host a Halloween costume contest, “haunted house” and other Halloween activities from noon to 4 p.m.
- It is free and open to the public.
- In addition, the first 50 participants will receive a special edition of the book Hocus Pocus.
- Downtown El Paso:
- Hotel Paso Del Norte, Autograph Collection hosts a very fun Halloween party, opening at 5pm for early arrivals, with spooky nights starting at 7pm until El Mirador’s witching hour at 2am.
- schedule: 7pm : Spooky Chess (a standard chess game in a Halloween atmosphere) hosted by El Paso Chess Nerds. 9 pm : Performance by the band María y las Marionetas. 10pm. : Makeup contest.
- Additionally, Cazadores Blanco and Reposado Tequila are $5, Tecate is $3, and tacos are $3.
- Chelo Vista Mall:
- The mall will host free, mall-wide Halloween trick-or-treating from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
- Families can purchase goodies from retailers throughout the mall, while supplies last.
- El Paso County Sheriff’s Office:
- The Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Vinton will host a “Trunk or Treat” event in the Village of Vinton parking lot, 436 Vinton Road, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Las Cruces Activities:
- Las Cruces Fire Department:
- Firefighters will provide free glow collars at Fire Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 in Las Cruces from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Additionally, on Halloween from 2 to 5 p.m., trick-or-treaters can take photos with Las Cruces firefighters at Fire Station 1.
