The actor Willem Dafoe does not at all exclude, it seems, one his third appearance in the role oficonic villain Of Spider-Man Norman Osborne/Goblins (Green Goblin in the original in marvel comics). The proof of the actor in Spider-Man (2002) by Sam Raimi remains his more recognizable interpretationand has reprized his Goblin role most recently to rave reviews in Spider-Man: No Way Home of 2021. Dafoe told Inverse in a recent interview to promote his new thriller, InsideThat a third ride with the Marvel villain isn’t out of the question.
«If all goes well, sure – Dafoe said – I mean, it’s a fantastic role. I liked that it’s a double role on both occasions. Twenty years ago, and quite recently, both times (were) very different experiences, but I enjoyed both».
During her press tour for Spider-Man: No Way Homein which his Goblin was reunited on screen with Spider-Man’s Tobey Maguire and simultaneously became the villain of the British actor’s third Spider-Man, Dafoe said his main stipulation to reprise the role was that it wasn’t just a cameo.
«Noi didnt really want to make a cameo – Dafoe told The Mary Sue at the time – I wanted to make sure there was something substantial enough to do, that wasn’t just a tip of the hat. And the other thing was, I said I really want there to be action – I want to take part in action scenes. Because it’s really fun for me. It’s the only way to ground the character. Otherwise, it just becomes a series of memes».

And it is from the making of the film with the Greek director that an anecdote has arrived in recent days according to which Dafoe asked to be repeatedly slapped for one scene by the Oscar-winning actress for La La Land. Nothing strange, except that the actor at that moment was not even in the room but out of the shot. Emma Stone, apparently, would hit about twenty times (find all the details on the matter at the bottom of the article).
In the cast of AND (each letter of the title, which obviously evokes the conjunction, should also refer to each of the three stories mentioned above) we find, in addition to the aforementioned Willem Dafoe and Emma Stone, also Margaret Qualley, Jesse Plemons And Hong Chaufresh from an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Whale by Darren Aronofsky.
The film is written by Lanthimos with his trusted partner in the screenplay Efthymis Filippou (The Lobster, The sacrifice of the sacred deer) and should arrive at the 2023 edition (the eightieth) of the Venice Film Festival, thus following the more than probable presentation of Poor Things in May at the next Cannes Film Festival, where it is one of the most certain titles to find a place on the bill that will be announced in just under a month or so.
