Women for Bees: Angelina Jolie and Guerlain in Mexico for bees

Never like in International Women’s Day – today, March 8, 2023 – it is worth remembering the commitment of Guerlain supporting beekeepers around the world. A promise, kept every year, which takes the name of Women for Bees and which aims to promote the training of this sector all over the world, from France to Cambodia, from Mexico to Japan and Italy, in close collaboration with UNESCO and, starting this year, with local NGOs.

This year Women for Bees, always with Angelina Jolie as Godmother, inaugurates a new phase of its program in Mexico, specifically in the Yucatan, to support the traditions of Mayan women and face the risk of extinction of the Melipona bees in collaboration with the Fundacion Selva Maya and Belmond Maroma (the non-profit organization committed to protecting Melipona beecheii, the sacred bees of the ancient Mayan civilization, ed).

This commitment to women’s empowerment through the Women for Bees program will continue in 2023 and for years to come with more training courses for beekeepers in Rwanda, China and beyond. Today, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Guerlain invites you to review three years of concrete actions aimed at empowering women through education and training on bees, their well-being, conservation and restocking, and through the activity sustainable professional, thanks to the skills learned during the experience.
