World’s heaviest pumpkin named after Michael Jordan | Trending

According to Guinness World Records (GWR), Gienger named the giant gourd “Michael Jordan.”

GWR shared the news on Instagram. “Travis Gienger demonstrated the heaviest pumpkin at the 50th Annual Safeway World Pumpkin Weigh-In Championship, weighing in at 2,749 pounds (1,246.9 kilograms),” the record-keeping organization wrote. Meanwhile, GWR also shared a video where you can see the giant pumpkin being lifted with the help of a crane. When it was put down to be weighed, Ginger jumped with excitement at winning the competition. Several people can also be seen looking at the pumpkin in surprise.

The video was shared on Instagram a few hours ago. Since its release, it has received over a hundred thousand views. The share also received nearly 7,000 likes. Many people even took to the comments section of the video to express their excitement at seeing the giant pumpkin.

Previously, this record was held by Stefano Cutrupi (Italy) from Chiantilada, Tuscany, Italy. Cutrupi broke this record at the 10th edition of the Campionato della Zuccone Pumpkin Festival in 2021. His pumpkin weighed 1,226 kilograms (2,702 pounds 13.9 ounces), making it the first giant pumpkin in the competition to surpass the 2,700-pound mark.
