23XI clears Michael Jordan’s biggest obstacle to NASCAR excellence with performance

Being below the cutoff heading into the final game of the playoffs is never a good place to be. So imagine how nervous Michael Jordan would feel knowing that both of his drivers were below the cutoff line. Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick have both had strong performances so far this season, but they both need to perform well at Loval Arena to advance to the quarterfinals. Fortunately, they have already started.

No matter how good the driver, Roval is not an easy place to race. The track might be classified as a road course, but in reality, it’s also a mixed track with a partial oval shape. Switching from one track to another within a lap is usually a challenge, and Michael Jordan’s driver had to overcome it on Sunday.

Michael Jordan’s prodigy shines through adversity

Despite its absolute troubles, the Toyota team has performed well on track so far. At the end of qualifying, 23XI Racing was well ahead of everyone else. Bubba Wallace will start fourth with Tyler Reddick on the pole. Michael Jordan couldn’t have asked for a better situation.

The only thing left to do is execute the play. This shouldn’t be a big deal for the pole sitter. Tyler Reddick proved this year that he is a master of the road course. He finished in the top 10 in three of the final four road races of the season, including a win at the iconic COTA race.

His numbers at Charlotte Roval were also pretty impressive. The 27-year-old has made three starts at the track so far in his Cup Series career. He’s had two top-10 finishes. Tyler Reddick’s best result at the Roval was a P2 in 2021. Starting from pole position in 2023, it wouldn’t be unwise to bet on the 23XI Racing star to win the race.

However, the same cannot be said for his teammates. Bubba Wallace has yet to win a race this year, and his track record in road races isn’t the best either. The 23XI Racing driver finished nine points behind the finish line and has not finished in the top ten in any road race in 2023.

His numbers at Roval didn’t do him any favors either. The 29-year-old has competed in five races at the track and has failed to finish in the top 20 in three of them. However, his best finish last year was seventh, so he will be looking to build on that. Bubba Wallace will be looking to finish as high as possible and score as many points as possible on the tricky road course. His starting position will be critical.

Both drivers successfully cleared Roval’s first road block. They will now take the form on Sunday. But what strategy will they adopt? For his part, Tyler Reddick doesn’t think it was his decision.

Tyler Reddick still doesn’t know his LoVar strategy

After putting the car on pole, Reddick was asked by reporters if he would go for stage points or the win. The 23XI Racing star didn’t reveal anything, saying the decision was up to the team.

“I mean, it’s a scenario, right? Like I said, I’ll leave that up to (team leader) Billy (Scott) and the team, but we’ve definitely seen it, right? ? “Last year’s races would have been a lot different in terms of points before the caution came out and that did change a lot of things for a lot of drivers and teams,” Reddick said, according to Racing America .

“I’ll leave that to them. “I’ll stay in my lane and think about what I can do as a driver,” I’ve added it.

No matter what strategy both drivers adopt, Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace will be confident going into Sunday’s race. Neither driver wanted to let down owner Michael Jordan and even if they didn’t get the job done, they would do their best.
