Pride Month is here and like every year it has brought with it a good number of interesting themed comic releases. From classic anthologies of American superheroes through manga and manhua to graphic novels. Here are some titles celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride Month.
DC Pride 2023 (192 pages, Hardcover, €25)
Like every year, the American superhero anthology brought to Italy by Panini Comics returns. dc pride 2023, a rich anthology volume in which the DC Universe once again reaffirms its focus on LGBTQIA+ characters, prepares to take the reader on an engaging adventure that talks about love and acceptance. This time, a new generation of superheroes takes center stage: Superman’s son John Kent, third Robin Tim Drake, resourceful Green Lantern Joe Mullin and the relentless Kid Quick. Also included in the volume is a poignant autobiographical account by American actor Kevin Conroy (who died in 2022), which explores his relationship with Batman, a character he has long lent his voice to. The DC Pride 2023 anthology includes more than ten stories created by writers and artists such as Meghan Fitzmartin, Devin Grayson, Stephanie Phillips, Travis G. Moore, Tiny Howard, and Italian cartoonists Giulio Maccione and Enrica Arane Angiolini.
