lucy boynton will be the protagonist of the new series entitled MercyA four episode project made for ITV and inspired by true events.
The episodes are written by Kelly Jones and the story will be set in 1955, with Ruth Ellis, the last British woman to be hanged.
The story will unfold in two parallel time dimensions, uncovering secrets that have been hidden for decades and asking questions about what really happened in the months before Ruth’s murder, which killed her boyfriend David Blakely Was.
Episodes will follow the young girl as she enters the world of London high society, showcasing her glamorous lifestyle as she manages a nightclub, and her abusive relationship with the man she later kills in cold blood. killed in until executioner Albert Pierrepoint carried out the execution at Holloway Prison when Ruth was only 28 years old.
