Crowded sea, less Italian presence, but no shortage of foreigners. From Sarrabus to the shores of Villasimius, Solanas, Torre delle Stelle and Geremeas, a festive air reigned. Ferragosto has not been touched, despite the crisis, even if you spend less than in the past.
“I returned to Sardinia after three years,” says Giovanni Sanna, a Sardinian living in France. I am staying for a few days. Up to at least twenty days. This year my vacation will be concentrated in one week. I’m going home on Thursday.”
The southeast coastline doesn’t miss anything. Cala Sinzias, the magical beach of Castiadas, has also hosted the yachts of Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce, the former Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and “Lady C” of the American Dan Snyder. Never happened here.
“Beautiful postcard,” says Pierpaolo Piu, director of Cala Sinzias Garden Beach. Here is a fairy tale, a magnificent sea, untouched nature. Tourists appreciate it.”
Solanas and Torre delle Stelle have also recently offered religious events such as the festival of San Giuseppe, the procession to the sea and the divers diving at the foot of Christ (in Genne Mari). All within the “Mara e mare” of the municipality of Marakalagonis. Solanas did not miss even two evenings devoted to operas by Mozart and Donizetti.
Andrea Delpin, former FIGC President and current manager of European Champion Mara Badminton, is on holiday in Genn’e Mari, Torre delle Stelle. “I see a lot of movement, the mistral of the last days has also made the beaches more beautiful, which is good.”
