Jeanne DuBarry: The Royal Favourite, the new film starring Johnny Depp, directed by MAYVENN, will be released in Italian cinemas on August 30th.
After opening out of competition 76th Cannes Film Festivalalso comes to Italy Jeanne du Barry – The King’s Favoritedirector Maiwenn (actress and director, repeatedly nominated for the César Award, winner of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for her third directorial work, Polis).
An intense tale of love and passion at the court of Versailles, recounting the life, rise and fall of Jeanne, played by Maiwenn herself, the lover of His Majesty Louis XV, with an unparalleled face. Johnny Depp.
Rounding out the cast are Benjamin Laverne (The French Dispatcher), Melville Poupeau (Brother and Sister), Pierre Richard (Meet the Parents), Pascal Greggory (The Last Hour) and Hair of India (La Linh). .
The film will be released in our theaters from infamous pictures from August 30.
Synopsis
Jeanne Vaubernier, a young working-class woman with a thirst for culture and pleasure, uses her wit and charm to climb one rung of the social ladder after another.
She becomes the favorite of King Louis XV, who, unaware of her status as a courtesan, regains his appetite for life through her. These two fall madly in love with each other, and contrary to all decorum and etiquette, Jeanne moves to Versailles, where her arrival outrages the court…
