According to reports in the Panamanian press, the attack occurred on Tuesday, November 7, at approximately 15:00 local time, during a protest demonstration on the Pan American Highway.

In the video published by the correspondent of the Spanish news agency EFE, the man was seen getting out of his car, speaking with the demonstrators for a short time, trying to remove objects thrown on the road, and then firing his gun.

While Abdiel Diaz, who was shot in the neck by Darlington, died at the scene, another protester, Ivan Rodriguez, died at the hospital where he was taken by other demonstrators.
