“A Palestinian child eats grass due to hunger.” What is the truth about the video?

In light of the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, in a context of scarcity of food, water and fuel due to the siege imposed on the Strip, a video clip was circulated on social networking sites which according to the publishers was of “a Child Palestinian who eats grass to satisfy his hunger.”

The video shows a child sitting in what appears to be a field, eating grass, while the editors of that video commented saying: “Look at this Palestinian child eating the herbs of the earth out of hunger.”

The video has received tens of thousands of shares from social media pages since it began spreading on November 12, 2023.

Famine warning in the Gaza Strip

The diffusion of the video takes place in light of the “definitive siege” imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war, where tens of thousands of people are without shelter, and there is a serious humanitarian crisis, a serious shortage of food supplies and a drinking water outage.

The World Food Program warned Thursday that residents face “the immediate possibility of starvation” in the Gaza Strip, where “food and water supplies have become virtually non-existent.”

The executive director of the World Food Programme, Cindy McCain, spoke in a statement about the “approaching winter,” noting that “shelters are unsafe and overcrowded and there is a shortage of clean water.”

“There is no way to meet current hunger needs through a single operational border crossing,” he said, referring to the limited aid that has entered through the Rafah crossing with Egypt.

In the Gaza Strip, one of the last grain deposits was seriously damaged by Israeli bombing, making it increasingly difficult to obtain bread, a fundamental food for the population.

A Moroccan man was arrested with chains around his neck. This is the truth in the video!

A video of a security member of the Moroccan auxiliary forces dragging a citizen with an iron chain tied around his neck has spread on social media in Morocco.

Since October 9, Israel has imposed an “absolute siege” on the Gaza Strip, cutting off supplies of water, electricity, fuel and food, in response to the Hamas attack on October 7.

The spark of war was sparked on October 7, when Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel, killing around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, including women and children. The movement also kidnapped around 240 hostages, including foreigners, and transferred them to the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, since that date Israel has responded with continuous bombings and ground incursions, which have resulted in the deaths of over 12,000 people, most of them civilians, including women and children, according to the health authorities of the Palestinian Strip, who have controlled by Hamas since 2007.

Old video

Despite the difficult circumstances in the Gaza Strip, the video, which is said to depict a “Palestinian child”, is old and has nothing to do with the Strip.

Searching for that video, it was found posted in February 2022, which is more than a year ago.

Trump and a plate of couscous…the truth about the photo that set social networks alight

Social media users have circulated a photo that editors say shows US President Donald Trump eating a plate of couscous a day after the US recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara.

The video was then accompanied by hashtags such as (Turkey_Istanbul_Iraq_Syria_Egypt) without mentioning the Palestinians.

Agence France-Presse was unable to confirm where the video was filmed, but it was published more than a year ago, which denies any connection to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
