It’s still a little strange to me that Aaron Eckhart somehow jumped out of the A-list and went straight into video-on-demand land. And like many others whose careers follow this trajectory, Eckhart is busier than ever. He can currently be seen in the K-9 revenge film. Muzzle (review here) and now the trailer for his upcoming boxing drama has arrived: Rumbling through the darknessin which he is seen paired with co-star Bella Thorne.
The film takes place in the Mississippi Delta. Eckhart plays Jack Boucher, a desperate fighter forced to retire due to a concussion. Now, deep in debt to a local crime boss and a family legacy to protect, he’s forced back into the ring for the fight of his life. Thorne plays Annette, a carnival worker who has her own ideas about Jack’s redemption.
Film directed by Graham Phillips and Parker Phillips based on the novel Fighter Michael Farris Smith. Help Director Tate Taylor, a Southern boy himself, will serve as executive producer.
The cast also includes Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Joe Hursley and Liz Fanning. Richie Montgomery, Mike McCall and Susan McPhail.
Rumbling through the darkness will be released in theaters and will stream on November 10th.
