Iconic director Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bad Things will join more than 130 films on the Adelaide Film Festival line-up after organizers secured the addition of two recent films to their wishlist.

The film has generated Oscar buzz among lead actress Stone, and the AFF will host the Australian premiere.
Saltburn The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado. It follows Oxford University student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) who finds himself drawn into the world of aristocrat Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who invites him on an extended family holiday over the summer.
“We always promise to bring the very best of international cinema to the Adelaide Film Festival, and we are delivering on that commitment again in 2023,” AFF’s Kesting said.
“The published program is already a shocking film delight, but I’m thrilled to announce these late additions – both of which are a great treat for festival audiences.”
Poor things will be shown on October 19 and 27 at the Capri Theater and Saltburn will be shown on October 25 in Piccadilly and October 28 in Capri.
The AFF program ended last week and includes more than 130 films from 43 countries, including Royal Hotel starring Julia Garner, Housekeeping for Beginners Directed by Macedonian-born Australian filmmaker Goran Stolevski, this is an archival tribute to early surf culture.
