Cristiano Ronaldo helped Al Nassr beat Al Khaleej 2-0 in the Saudi Professional League. The result saw Luis Castro’s side close the gap on league leaders Al Hilal to just four points.
The Portuguese striker has scored 11 league goals in nine league appearances this season, and he did so with a stunning strike from outside the penalty area. Ronaldo received the ball on the edge of the penalty area, faked a shot and fired it into the far corner.
Sadio Mane’s fine goal was ruled out for offside, however, Al Nassr put the lead through former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte The advantage doubled. Laporte’s goal was his first since moving to Saudi Arabia from the Treble winners.
For Al Nasr, it was their fifth consecutive win in all competitions and their fifth clean sheet of the season. Their unbeaten run extends to 16 games as they return to the AFC Champions League and travel to Qatar to face Al-Duhail SC.

Nasser will miss Brazilian striker Talisca, who is suspended after picking up a straight red card in Tuesday’s cup tie against Al Etifaq. Talisca has been a standout player for clubs around the world, scoring 14 goals in 10 games before Tuesday.
