If Mariah Carey is the queen of Christmas, then Heidi Klum rules Halloween.
America’s Got Talent And AGT: Fantasy League The judge, TV presenter and model have thrown a Halloween party every year since the turn of the millennium. And if you’ve ever seen a survey of celebrity costumes from the last 20 years, chances are at least some of those photos were taken at Heidi Wien. But she doesn’t just put on a pair of animal ears and call herself a mistress!
Klum is always the best dressed at her parties, and she hires a team of makeup artists, costume designers and prosthetics specialists to help her create a stunning look. It’s obviously something she’s passionate about.
“I always try to find things that people wouldn’t naturally do,” Klum told People magazine. “Most people work as nurses or police officers, but I was always looking for something I hadn’t seen.”
Honestly, we’re still thinking about last year’s worm costume and are both excited and scared to see what she’ll do next!

Every Heidi Klum Halloween Costume
2022: Worm
In the early hours of October 31 that year, she posted a cryptic video on Instagram that showed her wearing dark makeup, colored contact lenses, and what appeared to be prosthetics all over her face. “Happy Halloween everyone!” She said with a cheeky grin.
So, what did Klum’s costume turn out to be this Halloween? Drum roll please… giant worm!
That’s right: Klum’s elaborate outfit resembled a massive, hyper-realistic-looking earthworm that would send shivers down your spine. Fashion reports that it took two years to create. Her husband Tom Kaulitz accompanied her on the fishing trip.
Another video Klum shared showed the process of putting on the suit itself. “It will be the craziest thing ever. I mean, it makes me so happy, you have no idea! Look at this thing! Oh my God, yes! She said before the people showed her the design and helped her up piece by piece. “I love this! I think I’m about to shed a tear! This is amazing!”
Klum then practiced squirming and falling gracefully before removing her costume in a “no worms” moment and striking a pose like the pro that she is.
2021: Zombie Mom
In a follow-up to her 2020 video, the dead Heidi is resurrected in a sequel she titled Heidi Hosts Halloween 2: Klum Day, proving once again that not even a multi-year pandemic can stop her from having Halloween!
“I love the process of transformation,” Klum said. USA today. “Costumes, wigs, contact lenses, prosthetics and makeup all play an important role in creating a look… We all have different passions in life, and dressing up as different things and characters is definitely my thing.”
2020: Camouflage
Due to the pandemic, Klum canceled her annual party and instead filmed a short film about everyday horrors. In it, she hides from her children by masquerading as her home while her children become zombies wrapped in the toilet paper we all hoarded when quarantine began.
“Halloween is different this year, but that shouldn’t stop us from getting creative at home 👻 Stay safe, be spooky and spend time with your family. 🎃🕸🦇🧛🏻♀️🧟♀️ #HeidiHalloween2020,” she wrote in her post. Instagram caption.
2019: Frankenstein’s Alien
This bloody bodysuit turned the woman once called “The Body” into… a body? At first glance she looks a little like a zombie, but zoom in and you’ll see that she’s a cyborg alien, or possibly several different aliens stitched together by a mad scientist named Dr. Heidi Klum.
Klum allowed fans to watch her get ready for the party, sitting in a store window all day while her team did her makeup. The idea was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her annual party, which doesn’t quite line up with other reports we’ve found about when the tradition started, but maybe she’s just using Heidi Math!
2018: Fiona from Shrek
The fairy tale parody reminds us that it’s what’s on the inside that counts, and Klum tested that theory by making herself virtually unrecognizable. Luckily, her then-boyfriend Kaulitz was happy to play her Shrek and was even more like the Dreamworks character than she was!
2017: Michael Jackson in Thriller
At first we thought it was Michael J. Fox from Teen Wolf, but it’s actually a version of another MJ: Michael Jackson! Klum and her pals dressed up as the cast of the Thriller video after the full moon turned them all into creepy creatures of the night.
“Michael Jackson has always been such an icon, and the Thriller video is so iconic, and I thought, ‘I have to redo this,'” he said. AGT Judge told People.
2016: Heidi plus Heidi plus Heidi
This year, Klum flipped the script by wearing a bodysuit and thigh-high boots reminiscent of her Victoria’s Secret days. Other women have been recruited to wear prosthetics to look… like Heidi Klum. Matching outfits and wigs complete the illusion of Klum’s clone army.
2015: Jessica Rabbit
You’d think the gorgeous Heidi Klum was dressing up as the cartoon sex symbol Jessica Rabbit. Who Framed Roger Rabbit it wouldn’t be scary. You are wrong. Klum enlisted the help of makeup artists to imitate Jessica’s cartoonish proportions, resulting in her appearing neither human nor animated. But that’s what Heidi likes!
On Instagram, Klum revealed that she came up with the idea for the costume after she drew the character for a fashion shoot, and shared a look at the hard work that went into creating the final product.
2014: Butterfly

2013: Old Woman
One of the best Klum costumes of all time is Heidi as herself, but older. Klum recently turned 40, and this year she decided to embrace the idea of aging and dive headfirst into it, with results that are both super realistic and somehow adorable. She I called this look “old me” on X (formerly known as Twitter), which is just perfect.
2012: Cleopatra
Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy forced Klum to postpone her annual gala, but since she already had a great suit, she showed fans what she would have worn. The headdress looks a little heavy, but it’s fine for the Met Gala…or America’s Got Talent the final.
After all, in December, Klum held a makeover costume party called the “Haunted Holiday Party” to raise funds for the American Red Cross, where she wore a slightly modified and very sparkly version of the Cleopatra costume.
2011: Skinless Body, Monkey
Klum hosted a party in New York and a party in Vegas in 2011 and apparently did not repeat her costume. She and then-husband Seal came to New York as a pair of monkeys with mottled skin and surprisingly noticeable mammalian glands.
In Vegas, Klum was inspired by the “Bodies” exhibition and wore a costume that simulated a person without skin. A pair of blood-spattered “doctors” wheeled her along the red carpet on a gurney, because after the costume, Klum loves nothing more than going out. Sorry guys, I’m pretty sure this patient died.
2010: Brilliant bot
Purple red transformer? Hot cyborgs? Stylish alien? We never really understood what the costume was supposed to evoke, except for Heidi, of course.
2009: Sexy Crow
On top there is a full face with bird makeup, on the bottom there is a mesh. Klum turned into a scavenger bird, but hopefully she managed to eat something other than road kill.
2008: Hindu Goddess
Klum accurately portrayed Kali, the Hindu goddess of death, although she might have chosen a less culturally specific costume today, as that choice did draw some criticism. Still, you can’t say she didn’t put her best effort into an outfit that included severed body parts.
“It was actually my assistant’s idea,” she told reporters at the time. “My husband and I were in India last year and she said, ‘Why don’t you play an Indian goddess? Like a terrible Indian goddess? And I said, “OK!”
2007: Cat
Honestly, it looks better than Cats the musical, although that’s not saying much. Kitty Klum came complete with a tail, a whisper and a collar. Beware of the claws.
2006: The Snake and the Apple
Ah, the forbidden fruit. Klum chose to show Eve’s temptation by depicting both an apple and a snake, which conveniently hid the fact that she was eight months pregnant with her third child Johan at the time.
2005: Vampire
Far from the reserved, normal-dressed bloodsuckers The Vampire Diaries or TwilightKlum’s version of the vampire included dramatic makeup, huge bat-like wings, a tall wig and massive fangs.
2004: Red Witch
I’m pretty sure it’s not so much a costume as it is a mixture of all the things Klum wanted to wear. Her bodysuit, dress, boots and headpiece combo is as vibrant and dramatic as ever, and as her Project Runway co-star Tim Gunn would say, she makes it work.
2003: Golden Alien
Another image that offers many interpretations: she could be some kind of evil goddess, an alien from a gold-rich planet, or perhaps a fairytale robot. Possibly a supervillain! There appears to be a (fake) snake in her hair and something darkening her teeth. Whatever this costume represents, it’s undoubtedly Heidi Klum.
2002: Betty Boop
One iconic woman pays homage to another by portraying Klum as a cartoon pin-up.
2001: (Creepy) Lady Godiva
Traditionally, Lady Godiva was depicted as a naked woman on a horse, with her hair covering her naked body. Klum outdid and transcended these looks by riding a real horse to her party and wearing not a nude suit but a sparkling white sequined suit, complete with the requisite long locks.
The blood coming from the mouth is just a Halloween touch. This was actually the first time Klum hosted her own Halloween party.and with her release she sets the bar high.
2000: (Naughty) Heidi
What better way to kick off your long costume series than by dressing as another of Heidi’s most famous? Yes, she’s dressed to represent Heidi, the heroine of the classic children’s book about a little girl growing up in the mountains. Apparently Heidi Klum gave it the after-dark look downtown.
