Most recently, the 24-year-old tennis star was at loggerheads with the WTA over the introduction of performance byes at the upcoming Japan Open. The Kazakh tennis player was clearly unhappy with the decision-making process after being awarded a draw for the tournament. She expressed concern that she was not given the privilege of a bye in the starting lineup despite being ranked fifth.
Rybakina wrote sarcastically on social media, “Goodbye show. Thanks for changing the rules at the last minute. Great decision as always @wta.”

Rybakina was backed by tennis influencer Rachel Stuhlmann after sharing her opinion that while the idea was good, the execution was poor, creating chaos. Among other things, she argued that revoking the 24-year-old tennis star’s deserved goodbye, which she had spent an entire year working on, was not an appropriate move.
