Amy Shark is set to host her own Apple Music radio show. Radio “Feeding Time”.
The six-part series celebrating Australian music, from iconic artists to new artists, begins this Friday, October 20, and will stream to a global Apple Music audience. An interview with Zane Lowe will be released on Apple Music the same day.
Shark has a long history with Apple Music, becoming the first Australian artist on 2017’s Up Next, a global program showcasing up-and-coming music artists. She now joins other international stars with their own Apple Music radio shows, including Elton John, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Estelle, The Weeknd and BTS.
“It’s surreal to think that just a few years ago I was an Apple Music Up Next artist and a guest on Elton John’s radio show. rocket hour, discussing my debut album,” says Shark. “I now have my own Apple Music radio show, which I hope will give homegrown artists the same platform that I have.”
Shark is now eager to get to work. “I really enjoyed the radio show and the opportunity to get out of my own little world a little bit instead of listening to my demos,” she adds. “I’ve been so busy with my winning shit and there’s so much (new music) going on and I’m so excited.”
Radio “Feeding Time” is part of Apple Music’s celebration of Australian Music Month, featuring local music on the watch page, special programming and original content starting November 1st.
