Ana De Armas “ghosta” Chris Evans in the first trailer for their new movie together

A dream couple for fans: the ex Captain America Chris Evans is back to pair with Ana De Armas in a new romantic film, but only in the premise. Ghosted it is actually an action that promises adrenaline, explosions and some effusion between the two.

Directed by Dexter Fletcher – actor with a very long career and since 2011 also director of films such as Bohemian Rhapsody (but uncredited), Rocketman and of the series The Offer – tells the story of a man who meets a woman and falls in love with her. Things seem to be going well, until she starts to “ghost him”i.e. to stop answering messages and calls from him.

Chris Evans’ character then decides to make a “grand romantic gesture” and join her in London, but here is the turning point: in Ghosted, Ana De Armas actually plays a CIA agent engaged in dangerous missions full of shootings, chases and so on. Despite her, her “boyfriend” finds himself following her around the world and embracing the life of a spy and operative.

For Chris Evans and Ana de Armas it will be the third film together, after the acclaimed Knives Out and the least successful The Gray Man on Netflix. A partnership made possible this time thanks to AppleTV+which also involved the two actors as executive producers in collaboration with the screenwriters Rhett Reese And Paul Wernick.

Initially, alongside the former Marvel star there should have been Scarlett Johansson, but his defection due to other jobs have led to De Armas in the project, which arrives in April. By then, the young Cuban-born actress will know if she has triumphed at the Oscars for hers Blonde, where she portrayed beauty icon Marilyn Monroe. Other than a CIA agent with a passion for ghosting.
