Henry Cavill plays Argyle, a super spy on a worldwide treasure hunt, in Matthew Waugh’s film of the same name. The cast also includes Dua Lipa, Sam Rockwell and Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays writer Ellie Conway.
Director speaking on podcast Happy Sad and Confused explained how the film is based on the book.
It is based on a book that will be released in January. By… Ellie Conway. I read the book, met with the writer Jason Fuchs, and we came up with this idea… There’s a whole series of books planned. And so this film, I don’t want to spoil anything, but I liked the idea of the book, as well as the idea of showing the author writing the book. This inspired me to create a whole meta-universe.

Argyll will be released in cinemas on February 2, 2024 (in Italy on February 1), before debuting streaming on Apple TV+.
