Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have apologized for letters written to That ’70s Show star Danny Masterson, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison for rape. Both actors said: “We always support victims.”

“We recognize the pain caused by the letters we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson.” say the two actors who shared the sitcom That ’70s Show set with Masterson for years. “We support the victims. We have achieved this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future.” Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis said in an Instagram video to explain to their fans that it was not their intention to delegitimize the testimony given during the trial by the victims, and, in fact, the actress adds: “The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the justice system or the validity of the jury’s decision.” is supported by her husband, who explains: “They were intended to be read by the judge and were not intended to undermine the victims’ testimony or in any way re-traumatize them. We never wanted to do this and we are sorry that this happened.”
What was written in the letters
As the apology video also explains, the letters were written by the two actors to reveal more about the man they had known for over twenty years so that the judge could hand down a sentence with a clearer picture of Masterson’s personality. In his letter, Kutcher wrote:

Danny takes his job seriously. He is kind, polite and hardworking. He treats everyone, from professionals to actors to restaurateurs, as equals. Danny has always been a great role model. I hope my testimony about his character will be taken into account when sentencing. I don’t think he is a danger to society and I think it would be unfair to allow his daughter to grow up without a father.
Mila Kunis, however, testified in his favor, writing: “An amazing friend, confidante and most importantly an amazing big brother. His genuine concern for others and desire to lead by example make him an exceptional role model and friend.”
Danny Masterson convicted of rape
The actor of the series “The Ranch” was sentenced to thirty years in prison for raping two women. The verdict was handed down by a Los Angeles court during a trial held on September 7. The incidents against which the 47-year-old man is accused occurred between 2001 and 2003, although the first allegation dates back to 2017, when five women testified against him. The jury’s decision followed a trial that began in 2020 after his first arrest.
