Bella Thorne channeled her leather mom energy into a screening of her new movie Divinity at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica on Sunday night.
The 26-year-old former child star covered up her curvaceous 5ft 8in frame with a baggy black leather jacket over a black crop top, tucked into distressed blue jeans and black leather knee-high boots.
Bella (nee Anabella) carried a matching leather handbag and wore her newly dyed brunette locks into a neat updo for the event.
Thorne wore virtually no makeup on her face, save for some mascara, concealer, and pink lips.
The Florida-born, half-Cuban beauty plays cult leader Ziva in Eddie Alcazar’s hallucinogenic sci-fi thriller Divinity, which opens in wide US release on November 3rd.
The 88-minute film has earned just $16,170 at the US and Canadian box office since its October 13 premiere and currently holds a dismal 56% critical approval rating (from 32 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes.
Divinity also stars Stephen Dorff, Scott Bakula, Karrueche Tran, Moises Arias, Jason Genao, Michael O’Hearn and Emily Willis.
Bella sat next to producer Steven Soderbergh during the post-film Q&A, where she defended director Eddie Alcazar for making The Divinity without a script.
“It was so beautiful, the way you created it,” Thorne exclaimed.
“And as an actor, I’ve been acting since I was eight years old, and I’m 26 now, so I’ve been doing this for a significant part of my life, and I’ve just never worked with a director who probably had a vision that couldn’t be translated into script format.
“It couldn’t just be put here, and that was so intriguing to me. Crappy storyboards or not, you get my point.”
And while SAG-AFTRA strike rules typically prevent actors from promoting or attending film-related events, Divinity received a special temporary SAG-AFTRA agreement.
The Breakfast Club Live actress will also play tattooed carnival girl Annette opposite Aaron Eckhart’s boxer in Phillips Brothers’ Mississippi-set thriller Rumble Through the Dark, which opens in limited release in US theaters on November 3.
It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since Bella starred as hunky CeCe Jones on the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up alongside two-time Emmy Award winner Zendaya.
On Sunday, Thorne was reported missing by her British fiancé Mark Emms, whom she first met on a beach in Ibiza during Cara Delevingne’s birthday in August 2022.
Nine months later, a Bad Vegan executive producer popped the question to Thorne, offering him “an emerald-cut diamond ring weighing over 10 carats with baguettes flanking the center stone.”
The pansexual, polyamorous wild girl is planning a countryside wedding at an estate in the UK and wants to wear vintage Schiaparelli or Dior wedding dresses, telling Vogue on May 26, “Every bride needs not just one dress, but four!”
Mark is Bella’s first public romance since she split from her previous fiancé, B3N frontman Benjamin Mascolo, in June 2022 after three years of dating.
