Billionaire Michael Jordan kicked out of golf club for inappropriate attire, spoke only two sentences before embarking on his $20 million revenge

Michael Jordan’s love for golf began in the 1980s. His friends first introduced him to the sport when he attended the University of North Carolina. After retiring, Michael Jordan spent most of his time on the golf course. He is also a member of golf clubs throughout the United States.

But not even Jordan is above the rules, as he was kicked out of a golf club over his sartorial choices. Being a rival of Jordan’s, he decided to build his own golf course and then turn it into the most exclusive club out there.

Michael Jordan’s golf course in Florida is called Groove XXIII, a nod to his jersey number. People sometimes speculate that he bought the place because he didn’t like other players slowing him down at the golf club.

Jordan purchased the 200-plus acres of former citrus groves and contacted Bobby Weed, one of the world’s best golf designers and builders. He has his own company building golf courses. Michael Jordan met with Wade and said only two sentences when discussing the original contract. Jordan said: “Build me the best golf course.Build the best practice field for me“.

Weed and his team knew the importance of the job and decided to build a course that fit his aero style. Jordan invested heavily in the course’s production, often visiting multiple times a week to check on the process. According to Wade, Jordan never interfered with his work, he was always a good listener and let Wade do his job.

Jordan wanted the court to be firm and flat. The court was built to enhance Jordan’s game. Wade revealed that Jordan told him that if he was going to spend that much money, he should have a slight advantage. Weed also builds training facilities of the highest quality, undoubtedly unrivaled by any other facility in the world.

After the golf course was completed, both Jordan and Wade played a game on the course. After the game, Wade recalled Jordan telling him: “I’m lucky; I could go anywhere in the world, but there’s no place better for me than here“.

Michael Jordan went to Lagoles in Miami countless times and wore cargo pants. During Lagoles’ final game, he was told that he had violated their dress code and had to change his clothes. Jordan declined the approach because he didn’t want to interrupt the game he was playing.

Soon after, the authorities severed ties and the six-time champion was no longer welcome in Lagoles. The cost of Groove XXIII is estimated to be close to $20,000,000. Representative Jordan said this is the country club’s loss and no one else’s.
