Preacher Star Dominic Cooper has landed his next leading film role. The actor who played Reverend Jesse Custer on the AMC series will star in the Irish historical drama. Cry from the seain accordance with Diversity.
Cooper will appear nearby True Detective‘s Sarah Gadon and Vic Sarin are helming the project from a script by Ciaran Creagh.
For Diversity, Cry from the sea The story takes place after the First World War and the Irish Civil War. It follows Seamus Óg Mac Griann (Cooper), an Irish lighthouse keeper who torments himself over a past tragic mistake by isolating himself in the lighthouse.

“Seamus’s only company is the Mayor, his housekeeper and protector, who allows him to remain isolated from the world, quietly waiting for him to see her,” the synopsis continues.
“His carefully structured world begins to crumble when he meets Edith (Gadon), an outspoken American war widow whose desire for closure ignites something in Seamus that will change them all forever.”
The cast is ending A long time ago star Sarah Bolger and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit‘s Aidan Quinn. Production is slated to wrap in October, with release likely next year.

Talking to Fashion about the continuation earlier this month, Cooper recalled Streep being disappointed that she did not appear much in the film due to her character’s death.
“Meryl was definitely upset that she wasn’t involved in most of the second film,” he said. “She understood where the story was going, but I remember her saying, ‘Well, I didn’t want to die.’
Meanwhile, Streep said she would be open to doing a third Mother My! film, telling the magazine: “I’m ready for anything. I’ll have to schedule a knee exam before filming, but if there’s an idea that excites me, I’m all in.”
Cry from the sea haven’t received a release date yet.
