Bird flu protocols deployed after Rosales sea lions emerge

The specimen was found in part of Punta Alta Beach, in the Argentine Navy-administered Batrias region, near the town of Punta Alta.

A Navy source told Télam on Wednesday, “After being notified, we have a protocol and precautions in place for personnel and are working on this in cooperation with other agencies.”

They added: “The sea lion was on the shore, a fisherman filmed it and a video went viral on social media, so an intervention was taken.”

As already mentioned, within the framework of the measures provided, access to Punta Alta is closed preventively.
