Blade Runner 2049 – Ridley Scott regrets not making a sequel

During a recent interview, Ridley Scott revealed that he regrets turning down the Blade Runner sequel to direct Alien: Covenant.

Ridley Scott – at the advanced age of 85 – continues to be one of the most active and prolific Hollywood directors. During a recent interview given Empire – on the occasion of the debut Napoleonscheduled for November 23, 2023 – however, the director revealed that he has a small regret regarding his career, which relates to blade runner sequel.

The feature film, set thirty years after the first chapter, will revolve around the figure of Lucius, Lucilla’s son and nephew of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), rescued by Massimo Desimo Meridio at the end of the first film. Paul Mescal will take on the role of the protagonist, joined by Fred Hechinger, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, May Calamawi, Lior Raz, Peter Mensah, Matt Lucas, Connie Nielsen and Derek Jacoby. As for the universe Blade Runneralone on the road Series – by name Blade Runner 2099 – which will be available soon on Prime Video and in which Ridley Scott is actively involved as a producer. The project itself will continue Blade Runner 2049 and will happen in fifty years. So all that’s left is to wait updates.
