British actor David McCallum from The Man from U.N.C.L.E. dies at 90

British actor David McCallum, who played the Russian secret agent in the popular TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E., has died at the age of 90. He was also known for his role as a pathologist on the popular television show NCIS. A teen heartthrob of his time, the Scottish-born actor died in New York on September 25. The actor died of natural causes and was surrounded by his family at the time of his death. He took his last breath at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

According to a report in India Today, news portal CBS broke the news and in a statement they wrote, “David was a gifted actor and writer who was loved by many around the world. “He lived an incredible life and his legacy will live on forever through his family and the countless hours spent in film and television that will never fade.”

Meanwhile, his family released a statement calling him “a true Renaissance man.” It continued: “He was the kindest, coolest, most patient and loving father. He always put his family before himself,” his son Peter McCallum said in a statement. “He was fascinated by science and culture and turned these passions into knowledge. For example, he was capable of conducting a symphony orchestra and (if necessary) actually performing an autopsy, based on his years of research into his role in NCIS.”

Talking about his achievements, the veteran has won several hearts with his looks. Series “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” ended in 1968. He also received several Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and worked in several films, including The Great Escape, The Greatest Story Ever Told and A Night to Remember.
