British royal Fergie wants to become a talk show host in the US, says TV producer

Sarah Ferguson really wants to host a talk show in America.

The Duchess of York is believed to have met TV producer Amy Rosenblum at New York’s Regency Hotel last month to discuss the possibility of launching her own talk show in the US.

Rosenblum told the Mail On Sunday: “Sarah said to me: ‘I want a show!’ I want a show!

“I did a pilot with her about 15 years ago. We met with Ellen DeGeneres and they ultimately chose Ellen.

“But Sarah was really good when we filmed the pilot. Since then we have become friends.”

TV insiders believe Sarah, who was previously married to King Charles’ brother Prince Andrew, could command a big payday to host her own talk show.

An insider at ABC TV, part of giant Disney Studios, said: “Fergie could reasonably expect to earn around £2 million (NZ$4 million) a year, but that figure will rise significantly if her show is a hit.

“She has always been a big hit in America. She was never too proud to promote anything, whether it was one of her books or WeightWatchers.

“Americans respect those who hustle.

“Ellen retired, so there was a gap in the market.

“The amount she will earn as a talk show host depends on the network. Streaming services like Netflix are no longer offering stupid money like they did with Harry and Meghan. Many people were burned.”

“But Americans still love the royal title and the English accent, and Sarah has both. If she is serious about hosting a talk show, then doors will definitely open for her.”
