Britney Spears thought about her appearance in a classic teen movie Crossroadsadmitting that it was not an easy experience for her.

The Baby One More Time singer revealed how acting affected her mind while filming the 2002 film, in which she played and co-starred as Lucy Wagner. Zoe Saldana and Taryn Manning as three friends on a cross-country road trip.

In her upcoming memoir, The Woman in Me, excerpts of which were published by People magazine, Britney explained that she had difficulty separating herself from her character.

“This experience has not been easy for me,” she wrote. “My problem was not with anyone in the production, but with the effect that acting had on my mind.

“I think I started playing by method – but I didn’t know how to break out of my image. I truly became this different person. Some people play by method, but usually they are aware of the fact that they are doing it. But I didn’t have any separation at all.”

Britney continued: “I ended up walking differently, carrying myself differently, talking differently. I was someone else for a few months while I was filming Crossroads. I bet the girls I made this movie with still think, “She’s a little… weird.” If they thought so, they were right.”

The Oops I Did It Again singer said the experience was “basically the beginning and end of my acting career,” which she said made her “relieved.”

“I imagine there are people in the acting industry who have experienced something similar, where they have a hard time separating themselves from the character,” she said.

“I hope I never come close to this occupational hazard again. Living this way, being half yourself and half a fictional character, is a mess. After a while you don’t know what’s real anymore.”

Even though Britney has decided to end her acting career, she also revealed that there was one Hollywood film in which she almost starred opposite Ryan Gosling.

Britney’s long-awaited autobiography chronicles her life and career as a pop sensation, as well as the 13 years she spent under a conservatorship that oversaw many aspects of her professional and personal life.

In it, she also discusses the possibility of abortion while dating Justin Timberlake 20 years ago.

The book “The Woman in Me” will be published on October 24.
