Bryce James, the youngest son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, received an offer from Ohio State University this weekend after taking an unofficial visit to the school. James Jr. was seen on the sideline talking to Ohio State basketball coach Chris Holtmann before the Buckeyes football team took on Maryland on Saturday.

James is a three-star prospect in the 247Sports 2025 recruiting rankings, and his only other current scholarship offer is from Duquesne University in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard recently left Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles and transferred to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif., where he will spend his junior basketball season.

The elder James grew up in Akron, Ohio, where he rose to stardom and was eventually selected No. 1 overall in the 2003 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ohio State University is less than a two-hour drive from St. Vincent-St. Mary, where James attended high school.

Bronny James finally decided to attend USC after taking an unofficial visit to Ohio State with his father last fall. James’ oldest son recently began rehab as he hopes to return to the Trojans at some point this season after suffering a cardiac arrest during preseason training on July 24. He collapsed during training, resulting in him being taken to hospital where further tests revealed a congenital heart defect.
