Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo proves he’s next in line to catch the shot-blocking leader after LeBron James vs. James.Mavericks

Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo had a stellar defensive performance that would shock even the most ardent LeBron James supporter.

The Milwaukee Bucks hosted the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night, and “Greek Freak” Giannis Antetokounmpo took to the field to make sure the visiting team didn’t forget that he was one of the greatest players in NBA history.

Before the game, Giannis’ injury status was exposed. Mavericks coach Jason Kidd truly understands the impact the “Greek Freak” has on the NBA game.

With the Bucks leading 55-48 in the second quarter at the FiServ Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Giannis imitated LeBron James and Tayshaun Prince and took a shot at Mavericks forward Derrick Jones Jr. Crazy pursuit and blocking.

Soon after, the Bucks’ Antetokounmpo wowed Kidd and the Mavericks with a demoralizing display of his coast-to-coast ballhandling and dunking skills.

So far this season, Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. He averaged 4.1 assists per game and shot nearly 60% from the field, which shows that he has what it takes to be the best forward in the NBA this season.

The Bucks have a record of 8 wins and 4 losses so far in the new season, trailing the 76ers and Celtics, and the Eastern Conference is already crowded.

In order for the Bucks to reach their potential, Antetokounmpo needs to continue his dynamic on both ends of the floor while Damian Lillard continues to adapt to his new role on an Eastern Conference contender and recent NBA champion.

Lillard is averaging 24.6 points per game but is shooting just under 40 percent from the field this season after being traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to his new team, Milwaukee, in the offseason.

At halftime, the Bucks led the Mavericks 60-58, and the game in Milwaukee entered a white-hot stage.
