Cano Laboratories Introduces Innovative Drug to Combat Gastritis, Heartburn and Reflux Symptoms – PressPerú

This is Ki-Cab, which contains the active substance Tegroprazan. This next-generation drug belongs to a treatment class called P-CAB (Competitive Potassium Blockers) and works better than traditional treatments like PPIs (Proton Pump Inhibitors), which contain esomeprazole and omeprazole and other active ingredients. The latter has been used for more than 30 years, but does not meet all the needs of patients.

“Ki-Cab has additional benefits for gastroesophageal reflux patients. For example, it can be taken with food or alone without compromising its effectiveness. In addition, it has a 24-hour powerful and sustained 30 minutes to the first day can provide rapid relief of symptoms; and PPIs take at least 5 days to reach a plateau of relief symptoms, said Dr. Carlos Alberto Reyes, Medical Director of CARNOT Laboratories. “

The drug, which will be available in major pharmacies from September, is indicated for gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer disease. In addition, it is a complementary treatment to eradicate Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium that inhabits the lining of the stomach and small intestine, causing various conditions and, in worst cases, increasing the risk of stomach cancer.

Peru will become the fifth country in the world and the second in Latin America to launch the treatment. In this way, CARNOT Laboratories reaffirms its commitment to develop new products to benefit more patients.
