Cardi B could quickly become the champion of beauty hacks on TikTok, the social platform where DIY has taken pride of place in beauty routines. On Wednesday, the rapper shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter) of herself posing in front of a mirror with her long hair straightened. “My hair has grown so much!!!” he wrote as a description of the image. “Let me know if you want a video of my HOMEMADE hair oil… handmade by ME!” This isn’t the first time Cardi B has revealed her at-home beauty and hair health secrets. Last year, the rapper revealed on Instagram that she has been using boiled onion water for 6 years, which helps her hair grow quickly and healthy. Now, on another social network, Cardi B is revealing another ally to her beauty routine.
Some users immediately accused her of wanting to sell hair products, saying that “a Latina selling ‘hair growth oil’ to black women is misleading,” but the rapper quickly responded by clarifying that she doesn’t want to sell anything, but that I have “showing fans my hair growth journey since 2016.” Cardi B later added a follow-up post with a series of photos of herself as a child, teenager, and adult, first with her consistently short hair and then with her current long hair. The rapper wanted to show fans that she does not have a genetic predisposition to hair growth, supporting her thesis that the use of “homemade” products would be encouraged.
On the other hand, rapper Kash Doll has shown great interest in the products Cardi B uses. “Give me all the groceries lol,” the rapper wrote. “Girl, come to my house…” Cardi B replied: “I will wash your hair myself with boiled onion water, make you a hair mask and ask your aunt to dry it for you… But (I will offer you) even alcohol and food!!!” .
